Delhi LG VK Saxena Criticizes Arvind Kejriwal Over Ayushman Bharat Scheme

In New Delhi, a dispute has arisen between the Centre and the Delhi government regarding the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has accused former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of denying many people access to the scheme. Saxena claims Kejriwal feared it would reveal the truth about his health model.

In a post directed at Kejriwal, Saxena emphasized the importance of Ayushman Bharat, a scheme benefiting millions across India. He accused Kejriwal of opposing the scheme to gain personal credit. Saxena noted that in 2018, the Delhi government’s health department recommended the scheme’s implementation, but Kejriwal’s government wanted to rename it.

Saxena criticized the Delhi health model, calling it an illusion created by publicity. He alleged that the AAP government has not updated the ‘Essential Drug List’ since 2013, leading to medicine shortages. He also mentioned issues with the ‘Mohalla Clinics’ and the lack of a Hospital Management Information System in Delhi hospitals.

Saxena concluded by urging Kejriwal to implement Ayushman Bharat in Delhi, hoping politics would not hinder the scheme’s benefits.
