In New Delhi, the Patiala House Court has placed Deepak Boxer in judicial custody following his arrest in an extortion case linked to a shooting at a sweet shop in Nangloi. Initially held in police custody for two days, Deepak Boxer is accused of attempting to extort money through violence. Other Accused and Gang Involvement

Alongside Deepak Boxer, other accused individuals, Jatin, Akash, Hariom, and Ankesh Lakra, have had their judicial custody extended by 13 days. They are scheduled to appear in court again on October 29. The Special Cell of Delhi police had previously arrested two sharpshooters from the Deepak Boxer-Gogi gang, Hari Om alias Lalla and Jatin, for their involvement in the Nangloi shooting.

Details of the Crime

The shooting incident occurred on September 28, when two assailants on a motorcycle fired at a sweet shop in Nangloi, threatening the owner for money. The police recovered firearms and a motorcycle used in the crime. The assailants left extortion slips with images of deceased gangsters and names of jailed gangsters, including Deepak Boxer and Ankesh Lakra.

Investigation and Arrests

Police investigations revealed that Jatin, associated with gangster Ankesh Lakra, received orders to carry out the shooting. The weapons were allegedly supplied by Ankesh Lakra’s associates. Both Ankesh Lakra and Deepak Boxer are leaders of the Gogi Gang and were involved in a previous escape of a gangster from police custody in 2021.
