Delhi Court Extends Custody of Arvind Kejriwal’s Aide Bibhav Kumar

Delhi’s Tis Hazari court has extended the judicial custody of Bibhav Kumar, an aide to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, for another 14 days. Kumar was produced through video conferencing after his previous custody expired. He was initially remanded to judicial custody on May 31 following his interrogation in AAP MP Swati Maliwal’s alleged assault case.

Details of the Case

Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Goyal extended Kumar’s judicial custody until July 6. Advocate Karan Sharma, representing Kumar, appeared via video conferencing. The court has directed that Kumar be produced through video conferencing on the next hearing date for safety and security reasons.

Kumar was arrested on May 18 by Delhi Police after a complaint was filed by Swati Maliwal on May 16. The alleged assault incident occurred on May 13.
