CRPF Ensures Safety for Amarnath Yatra Pilgrims on Jammu-Srinagar Highway

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has put in place a strong security plan to protect pilgrims traveling on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) for the Amarnath Yatra. This route sees many devotees, and the CRPF is working hard to keep them safe.

CRPF personnel are watching every part of the highway closely, looking out for any suspicious activity. They have increased patrols, with Road Opening Party (ROP) and Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) constantly monitoring the route to quickly handle any unexpected situations.

Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, discussed the preparations for the Yatra. She mentioned that 26 lodging centres have been set up in Udhampur with proper security and sanitation. These centres can accommodate up to 6,000 people if the Yatra is interrupted by landslides or road closures. Each centre has a nodal officer to ensure all arrangements are in place for the pilgrims’ comfort.

The Amarnath Yatra is an important annual pilgrimage for Hindus, starting on June 29 and ending on August 19 this year.
