In New Delhi, as early trends from the Election Commission indicated that the BJP had crossed the halfway mark in Haryana, Congress leader Supriya Srinate expressed optimism, stating that the situation would soon change. She mentioned that the Congress’s vote share was ahead of the BJP’s and expected this to translate into seats.

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also voiced confidence, asserting that Congress would ultimately win, emphasizing the ideological battle at play. He criticized BJP leaders for troubling people.

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda was confident that Congress would form the government with a significant margin, crediting party leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge, as well as the people of Haryana.

As of 11:45 am, the Election Commission reported BJP leading with 49 seats and Congress with 35. The Indian National Lok Dal and Bahujan Samaj Party each led in one seat, while independents and smaller parties led in four. Despite exit polls predicting a Congress victory, the BJP seemed poised for a third consecutive win in the state.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was leading from the Ladwa constituency, while Congress’s Bhupinder Singh Hooda led from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi.
