Congress Leader Pawan Khera Talks About Haryana Elections and Rahul Gandhi’s US Visit

New Delhi, India – Amid speculation about an alliance between the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress for the Haryana Assembly Polls, Congress leader Pawan Khera stated that there is nothing to comment on regarding the ‘guesses and comments’ being made. He emphasized that such speculations are common during elections.

Khera said, ‘I cannot comment on the guesses and comments that are being made. Who is making a guess? Who is commenting? During elections, these kinds of guesses and comments are always being made. I will not comment on these.’

He also highlighted that the people of Haryana are taking steps to defeat the BJP in the upcoming elections, and Congress will be moving forward with that goal. ‘The people of Haryana have taken a step towards defeating BJP and with that step, we will also be moving towards that goal,’ he added.

The voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5, with the last date for filing nominations being September 12. The counting of votes will take place on October 8.

Regarding Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the US, Khera mentioned, ‘He was welcomed with open arms. People were very enthusiastic to hear their elected Leader of Opposition… The zeal is the same here in India as it is there in the US. It was a treat to watch how people became emotional meeting Rahul Gandhi.’

On the recent violence in Manipur, Khera questioned the Prime Minister’s response, saying, ‘Do you think the situation is stabilising? The Prime Minister still hasn’t visited the place. Doesn’t he have the love for a place in the country to go and put medicine on the wounds? But no, where there is any uprising, then he would stay at a distance from it.’
