BJP’s Plans for Upcoming Elections

BJP state president Babulal Marandi discussed the upcoming assembly polls in Jharkhand, mentioning his trip to Delhi for a meeting focused on election strategies. He criticized the current Jharkhand government for its delayed increase in monthly assistance for women and unfulfilled promises of financial aid to unemployed graduates and postgraduates.

Election Commission’s Announcement

The Election Commission is set to announce the schedule for the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. A press conference is scheduled at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi, to reveal the election dates. The current term of the Maharashtra Assembly ends on November 26, while Jharkhand’s term concludes on January 5, 2025. Elections for Jharkhand’s 81-member legislative assembly are expected by December 2024.

Preparations for the Elections

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar led a review of the poll preparations in Jharkhand, emphasizing the need to control the influence of money in the elections. In the previous 2019 elections, Jharkhand held its polls in five phases, unlike Maharashtra, which had a single-phase election.
