Congress Leader Bobby Panicker and Former Nagaland Deputy Speaker T Yangseo Sangtam Join BJP
New Delhi, India – Expelled Congress leader and former NPCC working president and treasurer Bobby Panicker, along with former deputy speaker of Nagaland legislative assembly T Yangseo Sangtam, joined the BJP. They were welcomed by the party’s general secretary (org) BL Santhosh, state in charge and national secretary Anil K Antony, and BJP Nagaland chief Benjamin Yepthomi in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Later, Benjamin Yepthomi met with BL Santhosh to discuss the party’s organizational activities in Nagaland over the past year. They reviewed the State’s performance in the first phase of the Sadasyata Abhiyan Membership Drive 2024. National Secretary Anil Antony, Advisor for Tribal Affairs H Tovihoto Ayemi, former Deputy Speaker Yangseo Sangtam, and former Vice Chairman of North East Congress Coordination Committee Bobby Panicker were also present.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched BJP’s 2024 membership drive by renewing his membership on September 2. The drive was initiated in New Delhi, with PM Modi receiving his membership renewal certificate from BJP president JP Nadda.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that 53 lakh members have enrolled as BJP members in Assam, achieving 85% of their target. He highlighted that in 71 Assembly constituencies, more than 40,000 members were enrolled in each constituency. CM Sarma participated in a review meeting at the state BJP headquarters in Guwahati to discuss the membership drive.
