Complaint Against TMC Councillor Sudip Polley by Kolkata Church to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee
The Diocese of Calcutta, Church of North India in Kolkata, has written a complaint letter to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The letter is about TMC Councillor Sudip Polley and his actions.
Details of the Complaint
The church mentioned that they were doing necessary repairs at the Girls’ Hostel in their College campus. They were replacing old asbestos sheets with new TATA Tin sheets and fixing the pathway to improve the hostel life for students.
However, before the work could be completed, people associated with Councillor Sudip Polley entered the Girls’ Nursing College Compound. They forcibly stopped the work and threatened the contractor and workers with serious consequences if they continued.
The letter also stated that these people threatened to bring down the College, Girls’ Hostel, and the nearby Shanti Nivash (Old-age Home) if their demands were not met. They even threatened to find faults in the institutions and create big issues, bringing local people to cause damage and close the Nursing College, old-age home, HIV Hospice, and orphanage. They also said they would not allow Oxford Mission to do any social work.
