COGAT Urges UN to Speed Up Aid Distribution to Gaza

In Tel Aviv, Israel, the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) reported that 600 trucks filled with humanitarian aid for Gaza are waiting for distribution. Most of this aid is managed by UN agencies. COGAT criticized the UN for not collecting the aid efficiently, despite efforts to assist them. They have expanded the Gate 96 crossing and urged the UN to increase the number of trucks entering Gaza.

COGAT has coordinated pick-up times, expanded routes, and set up tactical pauses to improve traffic flow to the crossings. In the past 24 hours, 47 aid trucks have been sent to northern Gaza, including 41 from Ashdod Port via the Erez Crossing and 6 fuel tankers for humanitarian purposes. COGAT also supported a UNICEF mission to deliver vaccines and equipment for a vaccination campaign in northern Gaza. COGAT emphasized their commitment to facilitating humanitarian aid across Gaza.
