Chief Mines Inspector Abdul Ghani confirmed the death toll, stating that efforts are ongoing to find the remaining miner. The miners were trapped at a depth of 4,000 feet, and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has faced challenges due to gas and debris. Heavy machinery has cleared debris up to 3,600 feet, but progress has been slow due to the need for a second power line and debris removal.

Mineral Resources and Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani has ordered an investigation into the incident. Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind assured a thorough probe and warned of strict action against those responsible for any negligence.

In March 2024, a similar incident occurred in Harnai, Balochistan, where 18 miners were trapped. The rescue team managed to retrieve 12 bodies and rescue six injured miners.
