CISF and BSF Announce Special Recruitment for Ex-Agniveers Amid Controversy

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Border Security Force (BSF) have announced special recruitment benefits for Ex-Agniveers. CISF Director General Neena Singh stated that 10% of constable posts are reserved for Ex-Agniveers, along with relaxations in the Physical Efficiency Test and age limits. For the first batch, there is a five-year age relaxation, and for subsequent batches, a three-year relaxation.

BSF Director General Nitin Agrawal expressed enthusiasm for the recruitment, noting that Ex-Agniveers are trained and disciplined. He confirmed the 10% reservation and age relaxations similar to CISF.

However, a controversy erupted in Parliament when Rahul Gandhi accused Defence Minister Rajnath Singh of lying about compensation for Agniveers’ families. Gandhi shared a video of the father of Agniveer Ajay Singh, who died in Jammu and Kashmir, claiming the family had not received the promised compensation. Rajnath Singh clarified that the Indian Army is committed to the welfare of Agniveers.
