CBI Investigates Customs Officer Ramesh Chandra Tripathi for Illicit Enrichment in Bangalore
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against Ramesh Chandra Tripathi, the Superintendent of Customs at the Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Whitefield, Bangalore. He is accused of intentional illicit enrichment during his tenure.
On September 20 and 21, 2024, a joint operation was conducted by CBI officers in coordination with the Directorate General of Vigilance, Customs, and Central Tax. During this operation, CBI officials recovered over Rs 25 lakhs from the possession of the accused officer.
Further searches at Tripathi’s residence in Bangalore led to the discovery of incriminating documents. The investigation is ongoing, and more details are awaited.
