CBI Catches Junior Engineer Ayush Kumar in Assam for Bribery
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) apprehended Ayush Kumar, a Junior Engineer at the Central Water Commission (CWC) in Assam, for demanding and accepting a bribe. Kumar worked in the Megna Sub-Division of the Cachar district.
The CBI registered a case against Kumar and other unknown public servants after allegations surfaced that he demanded a bribe to clear payments of approximately Rs 1.55 lakh for hiring a vehicle. Kumar was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 12,000 from the complainant to clear the pending bills.
Searches are being conducted at various locations, and the investigation is ongoing.
