Building Collapse in Lucknow: CM Yogi Adityanath Leads Rescue Efforts
A building collapsed in Lucknow’s Transport Nagar area on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of four people and the rescue of twenty-four others. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken immediate action, instructing officials to hasten relief efforts and ensure the injured are promptly transported to hospitals for proper treatment. He has also expressed his wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured.
ADG Law and Order Amitabh Yash stated that CM Yogi is continuously reviewing the situation and coordinating rescue operations among various departments, including the SDRF, NDRF, fire services, medical services, and the Municipal Council. So far, 24 people have been rescued and sent to various hospitals, while several others are still feared trapped.
Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Roshan Jacob confirmed the deaths and ongoing rescue operations. Municipal Commissioner Lucknow Indrajit Singh and Chief Fire Officer Mangesh Kumar also reported that many people are still feared trapped, and efforts are underway to evacuate them.
