Brigadier General Amitabh Jha's Passing Mourned by Indian Army and UNDOF

On December 23, Brigadier General Amitabh Jha passed away due to health reasons. At the time, he was serving as the Deputy Force Commander for the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF). The Indian Army, led by Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, expressed their deepest condolences. The Indian Army's Additional Directorate General of Public Information shared a message on X, highlighting Brigadier General Jha's role in the UN mission and his dedication.

UNDOF also shared their sorrow on X, noting Brigadier General Jha's significant contributions, especially during challenging times following the fall of the Assad government in Syria. He was praised for his leadership and professionalism in maintaining the ceasefire between Israel and Syria. Brigadier General Jha's service in United Nations peacekeeping, including his time with the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) from 2005 to 2006, was also remembered.

UNDOF's leadership and personnel extended their condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues, reaffirming their commitment to their mission despite the loss.
