An Air India Express flight, IX-196, traveling from Dubai to Jaipur, received a bomb threat via email, according to Jaipur Airport Police. The flight, carrying 189 passengers, made an emergency landing at Jaipur International Airport at 1:20 am on Saturday. After a thorough security check, no suspicious items were found.

Investigation and Response

The police are investigating the source of the bomb threat. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) is working with other ministries to amend laws to address hoax bomb threats more effectively. A senior MoCA official stated that offenders would be placed on a no-fly list and face up to 5 years of imprisonment.

In the past four days, 26 bomb hoax threats have been reported to major airlines in India, causing flight diversions and delays, leading to financial losses and inconvenience.
