BJP Criticizes JMM’s Candidate List for Jharkhand Elections

In Ranchi, Jharkhand, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo criticized the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) for practicing ‘parivarvaad’ or dynastic politics. This came after JMM released its first list of 35 candidates for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections.

Key Candidates from JMM

According to the list, Chief Minister Hemant Soren will contest from the Barhait Assembly constituency. His wife, Kalpana Soren, is set to contest from the Gandey seat, and his younger brother, Basant Soren, will run for the Dumka seat.

BJP’s Stance

Pratul Shah Deo labeled the list as a ‘dance of dynasty,’ questioning the need for multiple family members to contest. He expressed confidence that the JMM government would be ousted, stating, “I don’t think Hemant Soren government is going to return to power this time.”

JMM’s Response

JMM leader Manoj Pandey dismissed the BJP’s claims, describing the list as ‘balanced’ and finalized after thorough discussions. He predicted a 90% strike rate for JMM, expecting to win more than 60 seats with alliance numbers.

Election Details

The Jharkhand assembly polls are scheduled for November 13 and 20, with results to be announced on November 23. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) also released a list of six candidates, in alliance with Congress and JMM.
