BJP Wins Third Term in Haryana
Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde Criticizes Congress
In New Delhi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to form the government in Haryana for the third consecutive term. Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde described the election results as an “eye-opener” for the Congress party, which failed to make a comeback. Shinde criticized Congress for its “caste and religion-based politics” and stated that people have trusted Prime Minister Modi once again.
According to the Election Commission of India, BJP has secured 47 seats and is leading in one more, while Congress has won 36 seats and is leading in another. This marks the third consecutive victory for BJP in Haryana, led by new Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The elections for Haryana’s 90 seats were held in a single phase on October 5.
Shinde remarked, “Haryana has proved to be an eye-opener for the opposition and their caste and religion-based politics. With this agenda, they could not even win 100 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, and PM Narendra Modi was entrusted for the third time. People have silently slapped Congress.”
Despite Congress’s poor performance, former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda won from the Garhi Sampla-Kiloi constituency by a margin of 71,465 votes, defeating BJP’s Manju. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini expressed gratitude to the people of Haryana for supporting BJP for the third time, attributing the success to PM Modi’s leadership.
Former wrestler and Congress leader Vinesh Phogat also won from the Julana assembly constituency, defeating BJP’s Yogesh Kumar by 5,761 votes.
