As Jharkhand gears up for its upcoming Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is organizing a crucial meeting in Delhi on Monday. This meeting, set to take place at the BJP office in the evening, will focus on seat distribution and candidate selection.

Important figures such as State President Babu Lal Marandi, Leader of Opposition Amar Bauri, BJP in-charge Shivraj Singh Chauhan, co-in-charge Hemat Vishwa Sharma, former MP Arjun Muda, and Union Minister Annapurna Yadav will be present.

Strategy and Candidate Selection

On Sunday, several senior leaders held an election committee meeting to strategize for the state polls. Assam Chief Minister and state election co-in-charge Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the party’s committee will initially select three candidates per constituency, from which the parliamentary board will choose one to contest the elections.

Election Manifesto: ‘Paanch Prana’

The BJP has also unveiled its ‘Paanch Prana’ promises for the youth and women of Jharkhand. These include the Yuva Sathi, Gogo Didi Yojana, Ghar Saakar, Laxmi Johar, and ‘Assured Employment’ initiatives. Notably, the Gogo Didi Yojana will provide women with Rs 2,100 monthly financial assistance, while the Yuva Sathi scheme offers Rs 2,000 to youth for competitive exam preparation.

Upcoming Elections

Jharkhand is expected to hold elections for its 81-member legislative assembly by December 2024, as the current government’s term ends in January 2025. The Election Commission has yet to announce the official schedule.
