BJP Leaders Meet at Ajay Tamta’s House Before Speaker Election

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a meeting at the residence of Union Minister Ajay Tamta on Tuesday, ahead of the election for the Speaker of the 18th Lok Sabha. Key figures such as Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and BJP National General Secretary Dushyant Kumar Gautam were present.

Om Birla, the NDA nominee for the Speaker’s post, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Parliament House. Meanwhile, G M Harish, whip of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), issued a three-line whip to all TDP Members of Parliament, mandating their presence and vote for Om Birla in the upcoming Speaker elections.

The opposition INDIA bloc nominated K Suresh, an eight-time MP, for the Speaker position. The Speaker election is scheduled for Wednesday, followed by President Murmu’s address to a joint sitting of both houses of Parliament on June 27.
