BJP Leader Tamilisai Soundararajan Comments on Congress-DMK Alliance in Tamil Nadu
In Chennai, Tamil Nadu, BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan shared her views on the alliance between the Congress and DMK parties. She stated that their partnership is primarily for vote bank politics and predicted a coalition government in 2026. Soundararajan recalled past conflicts between the two parties, noting that Congress had imprisoned DMK leader Stalin during the emergency period. She remarked that actor and TVK chief Vijay's recent comments have emboldened Congress to demand power sharing with DMK.
Earlier, Tamil Nadu Congress General Secretary Saravanan wrote to Chief Minister MK Stalin, requesting Cabinet positions for Congress and other DMK allies. Saravanan emphasized that his letter reflected the sentiments of his party members. He cited Vijay's statement that his party would share power with allies, even with a single-party majority, as a catalyst for these demands.
Additionally, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, another DMK ally, has also sought a Cabinet position. These demands have gained momentum following Vijay's public rally in Vikravandi, where he expressed openness to power sharing.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu law minister S Regupathy criticized Vijay's TVK party, labeling it as the BJP's C team. He described the TVK's recent public meeting as more theatrical than political, asserting that the Dravidian model of governance remains influential among the people.
