Controversial Remarks on Dinesh Gundu Rao’s Family
A court in Bengaluru has issued a Non Bailable Warrant (NBW) against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal. This action was taken because Yatnal did not appear in court regarding his alleged statement about Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao’s wife, Tabassum Rao. The statement in question suggested that there is ‘half Pakistan’ in Rao’s family.
Complaint by Tabassum Rao
Tabassum Rao, the wife of Dinesh Gundu Rao, filed a petition against Yatnal. She also lodged a complaint with the Karnataka State Women’s Commission against the BJP’s state unit social media cell for derogatory comments made about her. Tabassum Rao expressed her disapproval of the continuous derogatory and communal remarks, emphasizing that women deserve respect.
She stated, “As someone who is not involved in politics, I find it reprehensible that my personal life and community are being dragged into the political arena. It is unacceptable to target family members of politicians simply because of their relationships.”
