Efforts to Improve Travel and Connectivity
Amrit Lal Meena, the Chief Secretary of Bihar, praised the state government's efforts to improve connectivity. He highlighted that significant changes over the past 15-20 years have made travel within the state easier, especially to the capital, Patna. The number of bridges over the Ganga River has increased from 4 to 14 since 2005, resolving previous connectivity challenges.
Bihar Business Connect 2024
During the Bihar Business Connect 2024 summit, the state signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) worth Rs 1.81 thousand crores with over 400 investors. The renewable energy sector received the most interest, with opportunities also in food processing, textiles, IT, and plastics. Meena expressed confidence in converting these MoUs into actual projects, as seen with half of the previous year's MoUs worth 53 thousand crores.
Investment Facilitation
The state has established a state investment promotion board and a single-window clearance system to facilitate investments. Officials receive training to support investment proposals, aiming to generate employment and develop investment avenues. The summit connected industry leaders and government officials to explore investment opportunities in Bihar.
