Bhutan King Visits Mahakumbh Mela with UP CM Yogi Adityanath
On Tuesday, Bhutan's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, traveled from Lucknow to Prayagraj to attend the Mahakumbh Mela. The King was warmly welcomed at Lucknow Airport by CM Yogi, who presented him with a bouquet of flowers. The Mahakumbh 2025, which began on January 13 and will end on February 26, has drawn millions of devotees from around the world.
During the event, a significant number of devotees took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj on Basant Panchami, marking the third 'Amrit Snan' of the Mahakumbh Mela. The Uttar Pradesh government ensured tight security and showered flower petals on saints and seers. Over 12.5 million devotees participated in the Shahi Snan as of Monday noon.
Prominent figures such as Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and CM Yogi Adityanath, along with his Cabinet, also took part in the holy dip. Other notable attendees included producer Vinod Bhanushali and Coldplay's lead singer Chris Martin with actress Dakota Johnson.
