Basavaraj Bommai Defends Mallikarjun Kharge Amid Congress Entry Allegations
In Bengaluru, BJP leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai addressed claims that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was denied entry during Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s nomination for the Wayanad by-polls. Bommai praised Kharge as a respected leader in Karnataka and urged Congress to show him respect. He stated, “Kharge ji is our leader, a big leader in the state. Even though he is in Congress, we respect him.”
Congress leader KC Venugopal countered the BJP’s allegations, asserting that Kharge was present during the nomination. Venugopal explained that the door was locked, causing a brief wait for Rahul and Sonia Gandhi. He criticized the BJP for spreading falsehoods about Kharge’s presence.
