Balochistan Bans PTM Leader Manzoor Pashteen for 90 Days
The Balochistan government has imposed a 90-day ban on the entry of Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) leader Manzoor Pashteen into the region. The ban will last until November 20, and the administration claims it is for public peace and security.
PTM leader Zubair Shah condemned the decision, suggesting it aims to prevent Pashteen from meeting leaders before the ‘Pashtun National Jirga’ on October 11. Shah stated that the ban shows the state’s panic over the gathering, which will address 77 years of oppression faced by the Pashtun nation.
The PTM has been active in raising issues of the Pashtun community in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. They previously held a large rally to protest against military policies and alleged fake operations. Thousands participated, declaring their land would not be used for further operations and wars.
During the rally, PTM founder Manzoor Pashteen criticized the military’s policies, calling them terrorism. He warned that public anger could lead to the overthrow of the military regime. Participants demanded peace, justice, and an end to military operations, advocating for a fair system that upholds citizens’ rights and freedoms.
