On July 29, in Gwadar, Pakistan, Paank, the Human Rights Department of the Baloch National Movement, condemned a brutal attack on peaceful protesters. The incident occurred during the Baloch National Gathering, where armored vehicles were driven into crowds, causing numerous injuries, including to leaders of the Baloch Youth Council (BYC).

Eyewitnesses reported that security forces used excessive force, deliberately targeting the protesters. Paank stated that this act is a severe violation of the right to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression, which are fundamental human rights protected under international law.

Paank has demanded an immediate and impartial investigation into the incident and called on Pakistani authorities to provide necessary medical care to all those injured. In a post on X, Paank emphasized that Pakistan must hold those responsible for the violent attack accountable and protect the rights of the Baloch people to peacefully assemble and express their demands.

Paank urged the Pakistani authorities to engage in meaningful discussions with the Baloch protesters to address their grievances and concerns. Additionally, they called on the international community to pressure the Pakistani government to uphold human rights and democratic principles, stressing that the world must not ignore the suffering and repression faced by the people of Gwadar.
