Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat announced plans to meet with Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and NCP leader Sharad Pawar to discuss important issues related to the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. Thorat stated, “The party has given me the responsibility to discuss certain issues with Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar.” He will meet Sharad Pawar to talk about seat allocations for the Samajwadi Party.

Earlier, the Congress party released its second list of 23 candidates for the elections. Some of the candidates include Rajesh Tukaram Manvatkar from Bhusawal-SC and Swati Sandip Wakekar from Jalgaon (Jamod). The first list, released earlier, included 48 candidates.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, which includes Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar), has agreed on a seat-sharing arrangement. Each party will contest 85 seats out of the 255 constituencies. The remaining 23 seats will be allocated based on party lists.

Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut confirmed the seat-sharing details. The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with counting on November 23. In the 2019 elections, BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, and Congress 44.
