Babulal Marandi Responds to JMM’s Concerns Over PM Modi’s Visit in Jharkhand

In Giridih, Jharkhand, Babulal Marandi, the chief of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state, addressed concerns raised by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) regarding a delay in Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s helicopter takeoff. The delay occurred due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, which required a no-fly zone for security reasons.

Marandi explained that the protocol of restricting helicopter flights within the Prime Minister’s radar area has been a longstanding practice, followed even during the Congress regime. He emphasized that this is a standard security measure and not a new occurrence.

Earlier, the JMM had written to President Murmu, seeking her intervention to ensure fair campaigning opportunities for all parties during the upcoming assembly polls. They highlighted that Soren’s helicopter was delayed for over 90 minutes, despite the Election Commission’s assurance of a 15-minute restriction within a 50-kilometer radius of the Prime Minister.

The Jharkhand Assembly elections are scheduled in two phases on November 13 and 20, with vote counting on November 23.
