Assam CM Sarma Meets with NDFB Leaders and Reviews Bodo Peace Accord

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held a meeting with the surrendered leaders of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) to discuss key issues related to employment and socio-economic development. The discussions aimed at empowering the surrendered NDFB members and ensuring their self-reliance to enhance their economic well-being.

The Chief Minister also met with the leaders of the All Bodo Students Union to review the progress of the Bodo Peace Accord 2020. During the meeting, they discussed the implementation of various clauses of the Accord. Sarma reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the Accord, acknowledging Prime Minister Modi’s efforts in ending the long-standing conflict in Bodoland in 2020.

The Bodo Peace Accord was signed on January 27, 2020, between the Government of India, the Government of Assam, and representatives of the Bodo groups, bringing peace to Bodoland.
