Assam CM Criticizes Jharkhand’s Farmer Policies

Himanta Biswa Sarma’s Remarks

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is also the BJP co-in-charge for the Jharkhand Assembly elections, has criticized Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren for his government’s handling of farmer issues. Sarma claims that Jharkhand’s government fails to procure paddy properly and does not provide the Minimum Support Price (MSP) to farmers on time. He urged Soren to apologize to the farmers and not blame the central government for these issues.

Call for National Register of Citizens

Sarma also called on Soren to declare his stance against infiltrators in Jharkhand and to implement the National Register of Citizens in the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address two public rallies in Jharkhand on November 4, while Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address three rallies on November 3. Sarma expressed confidence that the NDA-BJP will form the government in Jharkhand.

BJP Jharkhand chief Babu Lal Marandi criticized the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) government, stating that people are tired of Hemant Soren’s administration, which he claims has been controlled by brokers, middlemen, and corrupt officials for the past five years. Marandi believes the people want to bring the BJP to power in the upcoming elections.

The Jharkhand Assembly elections are being held in two phases on November 13 and November 20, with vote counting on November 23. There are 2.60 crore eligible voters, including 1.31 crore male and 1.29 crore female voters, with 11.84 lakh first-time voters and 66.84 lakh young voters.
