Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Celebrates BJP’s Membership Milestone
In Guwahati, Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the Assam unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has successfully enrolled over 60 lakh members as part of its ongoing membership drive. This achievement coincides with the auspicious occasion of Lakshmi Puja. CM Sarma expressed pride in reaching 100% of the membership campaign target, attributing the success to the dedicated efforts of party workers and inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prime Minister Modi, on the same day, renewed his membership as the first active member of the BJP. He launched the ‘Sakriya Sadasyata Abhiyan’ to strengthen the party at the grassroots level. PM Modi emphasized the importance of active members, who must register 50 members to be eligible for election to higher party committees. This initiative is part of the BJP’s 2024 membership drive, ‘Sanghatan Parva, Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024’, aimed at engaging more youth in the party’s activities.
