Badminton

The Indian duo of Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto lost their women’s doubles match against South Korea’s Kim So Yeong and Kong Hee Yong at the Paris Olympics. The match ended with scores of 21-18 and 21-10. The game lasted for 46 minutes. Ponnappa and Crasto will next face Japan’s Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida on July 29.

Indian shooter Manu Bhaker finished third in the qualification round of the women’s 10-meter air pistol event, securing a spot in the final. She scored 580-27x points. However, her teammate Rhythm Sangwan finished 15th with 573-14x points and did not qualify for the final.

In the men’s 10-meter air pistol event, Indian shooters Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Cheema did not make it to the final round. Sarabjot finished 9th with 577-16x points, and Cheema finished 18th with 574-17x points.
