Arvind Kejriwal Criticizes Ayushman Bharat, Defends Delhi Healthcare Model

In New Delhi, former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal emphasized that the Delhi healthcare model surpasses the central government's Ayushman Bharat Yojna. He stated that unlike Ayushman Bharat, which offers up to 5 lakh rupees for treatment, Delhi provides free healthcare without any financial limit.

Kejriwal's Criticism

During a press conference, Kejriwal pointed out alleged scams in the Ayushman Bharat Yojna, citing a report by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG). He argued that Delhi's healthcare system offers comprehensive free treatment, unlike the capped benefits of Ayushman Bharat.

PM Modi's Response

Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Delhi and West Bengal governments for not implementing Ayushman Bharat, attributing it to political interests. He expressed regret that elderly citizens in these states cannot benefit from the scheme due to non-implementation by their governments.

Kejriwal's Rebuttal

In response, Kejriwal accused PM Modi of politicizing public health issues. He defended Delhi's healthcare model, claiming it provides free treatment for all residents, regardless of cost. Kejriwal challenged the effectiveness of Ayushman Bharat, questioning its benefits to the public.
