Arunachal Pradesh Governor Visits Indian Army Troops

Location: Anini, Dibang Valley District

On a recent visit to Anini in the Dibang Valley district, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.) and his wife Anagha Parnaik met with Indian Army troops. The Governor expressed the deep respect and admiration the people of Arunachal Pradesh have for the armed forces, a sentiment built over years of positive interactions with local communities.

Governor Parnaik encouraged the troops to maintain this goodwill by implementing proactive welfare measures and fostering a positive attitude. He reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and the Vibrant Border Village programme, urging the forces to collaborate with local residents on various initiatives. He also encouraged the community to take ownership of Sadbhavana projects.

The Governor emphasized the importance of involving local civilians in securing border areas and shared his insights on managing the sensitive Line of Actual Control in Arunachal Pradesh. He advised the troops to remain physically fit, mentally vigilant, and aware of any hostile intentions across the border to ensure the security of the northern frontier.

The Sainik Sammelan was attended by General Officer Commanding, 2 Mountain Division Major General VS Deshpande, Commander 117 Mountain Brigade Brig K Jayashankar, various units of Indian Army troops, and personnel from the Indo Tibetan Border Police. Local MLAs Mopi Mihu, Deputy Commissioner Pagli Sora, and Superintendent of Police Ringu Ngupok were also present during the interaction.
