Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) [India], September 24: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has accused former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of being responsible for the contamination of the Tirupati Laddu Prasadam. Kalyan expressed his willingness to fight for Sanatana Dharma, stating he would have no restrictions in doing so.

Kalyan questioned whether YV Subbareddy and Karunakar Reddy, who held the position of chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams during the previous YSRCP government, had converted to Christianity. He held Jagan Mohan Reddy accountable for the contamination, citing reports received.

He emphasized that secularism should be mutual and criticized the lack of protest if similar contamination occurred in mosques or churches. Kalyan also responded to film actor Prakash Raj’s criticism of his secularism, asserting his right to address issues related to Hinduism and food adulteration.

Kalyan arrived at Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada to perform a purification ritual as part of his 11-day ‘Prayaschitta Diksha’ to atone for the alleged use of animal fat in the Tirupati Laddu Prasadam. He highlighted his lifelong devotion to Sanatana Dharma and the importance of mutual respect among religions.

The controversy follows claims by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu that substandard ingredients, including animal fat, were used in the preparation of Tirupati laddus during the previous YSRCP government.
