On Thursday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad held a meeting at the Secretariat to review various Centre sponsored schemes being implemented in the state. The meeting included officials from different departments.

Review of Schemes

The Chief Secretary examined the progress of schemes in collaboration with the Central and State Governments, focusing on Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Housing, Agriculture, and Medical sectors. Principal Secretary Sashi Bhushan Kumar explained that 22 Centre sponsored schemes are currently being implemented in the department.

For the year 2024-2025, the central government has released 8,340 crore rupees as its share for the implementation of these schemes.

Skill Training Programs

CS Neerabh Kumar Prasad also reviewed the skill training programs conducted in 2023-24 and 2024-25. He discussed the central and state government shares and the funds spent. He emphasized the need for better outcome-based training programs to provide employment opportunities for the youth.

The Chief Secretary instructed the authorities to take appropriate measures to implement any programs not covered by the central government and to submit a detailed report on the training programs conducted so far.

Other Departments

Special Secretary of the Home Department, Vijayakumar, mentioned that three centrally sponsored schemes, including the modernization of police forces, are being implemented in the home department. CS Neerabh Kumar Prasad also reviewed the progress of programs related to social welfare, backward class, tribal and women’s welfare, differently-abled departments, housing, agriculture, medical and health, and fisheries departments.
