In a recent event in Kolkata, Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, for the Congress party’s misplaced optimism regarding the Lok Sabha elections. Shah emphasized that true success is measured by winning the Prime Minister’s position, not by sitting in the opposition. He pointed out that despite Congress’s claims, the BJP won elections in several states and formed the government in Haryana for the third time.

Shah also announced that from 2026, every poor person in Bengal will benefit from the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, ensuring no bribes for jobs and education. He expressed the BJP’s goal to secure a two-thirds majority in the 2026 Bengal assembly elections.

Addressing women’s safety, Shah highlighted incidents in Sandeshkhali and RG Kar Medical College, asserting that these issues will be resolved if BJP forms the government in 2026. He noted that the BJP-led NDA won 293 seats in the Lok Sabha polls, while the Congress improved to 99 seats, with the INDIA bloc posing strong competition.
