Tragic Unnao Accident: Amit Shah and Akhilesh Yadav Respond

Union Minister Amit Shah expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the Unnao accident. He assured that the local administration is providing all possible treatment to the injured.

The accident occurred at 5:15 a.m. on Wednesday when a double-decker sleeper bus traveling from Motihari, Bihar to Delhi hit a milk tanker from behind on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway near Gadha village in the Behtamujawar Police Station area. The incident resulted in 18 deaths and 19 injuries. Six of the injured were referred to Lucknow, while the rest were taken to the District Hospital in Unnao for better treatment. Additionally, 20 people managed to escape unhurt.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the BJP government for negligence. He questioned how vehicles were parked on the road despite the provision of special parking zones and the presence of CCTVs.
