Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes BJP’s Economic Promises at Maharashtra Rally
As the Maharashtra assembly elections approach, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the BJP for its promise to make India the world’s largest economy. Speaking at a rally in Dhule, Maharashtra, Yadav claimed that neighboring countries are performing better economically and have less hunger compared to India. He accused the BJP of corruption in the construction of a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, which collapsed in Sindhudurg district. The statue, unveiled last year by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, fell on August 26. Yadav also mentioned the BJP’s frustration following their defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. The Maharashtra assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with results to be announced on November 23.
