New Delhi, India – On September 17, Ajmer Sharif Dargah will prepare and distribute 4000 kg of vegetarian ‘Langar’ food to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 74th birthday. This event is part of the ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ initiative.

Historic Tradition

The ‘Big Shahi Deg’ at Ajmer Dargah Sharif, a tradition upheld for over 550 years, will be used to prepare the food. The Dargah authorities stated that the food will include rice, pure ghee, and dry fruits.

Community Service

Syed Afshan Chishty, Gaddi Nashin-Dargah Ajmer Sharif, mentioned that the food will be distributed to people, including Gurus and the poor. The event is organized by the Indian Minority Foundation and Chishty Foundation of Ajmer Sharif.

Devotional Activities

The ceremony will start with the lighting of the ‘Big Shahi Deg’ at 10:30 PM inside the Dargah of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty. Special prayers for peace, unity, prosperity, and PM Modi’s well-being will be offered. Devotees and volunteers will engage in recitations of Quranic verses, Naats, Manqabat, and Qawwalis throughout the night.

Food Distribution

The distribution will continue throughout the morning, ensuring all attendees and nearby communities receive the blessed food. Volunteers will help in an organized manner.
