Ajay Maken Files Complaint Against BJP Leaders for Threatening Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, September 18: Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Maken has lodged a complaint against several BJP leaders for making threats against Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha. Maken filed the complaint at the Tughlak Road police station, naming Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu, Delhi BJP leader Tarvinder Singh Marwah, Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Gaikwad, and Uttar Pradesh Minister Raghuraj Singh.

Details of the Complaint

Maken’s complaint includes a video of Tarvinder Singh Marwah threatening Rahul Gandhi during a BJP event on September 11. Marwah’s statement implied that Rahul Gandhi could meet the same fate as his grandmother, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Additionally, Sanjay Gaikwad publicly offered a bounty of Rs 11 lakh for anyone who would cut Rahul Gandhi’s tongue on September 16.

Ravneet Singh Bittu and Raghuraj Singh also made inflammatory statements, calling Rahul Gandhi the ‘number one terrorist of the country’ on September 15 and 16, respectively. Maken claims these statements are intended to incite violence and disrupt public peace, especially during the ongoing elections in Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana.

Request for FIR

Maken has requested that an FIR be registered against the named individuals under relevant sections for criminal intimidation and public mischief. He emphasized the need for strict action against these leaders to ensure Rahul Gandhi’s safety and maintain public peace.

Public Statement

Addressing reporters, Maken condemned the threats and inflammatory language used against Rahul Gandhi.
