AIFF’s Three-Day Conclave: Strategic Plans for Indian Football’s Future
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) recently held a significant three-day meeting at the Football House in New Delhi. Chaired by AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey, the event brought together 32 Member Associations (MAs) from across India to discuss the challenges and opportunities in Indian football.
Key Discussions and Presentations
During the conclave, each MA was given 40 minutes to present their state-level operations and future plans. These presentations highlighted both challenges and opportunities, aligning with AIFF’s Vision 2047 plan. Prince Rufus from FIFA praised the initiative, noting its potential to advance Indian football.
Unique Challenges and Strategic Planning
President Chaubey emphasized the diverse challenges faced by different states, advocating for tailored state-wise plans. The introduction of self-evaluation cards for MAs will help draft specific proposals, covering areas like administration, infrastructure, and marketing.
Financial and Developmental Initiatives
The AIFF aims to achieve self-reliance by collaborating with State Governments and organizations for hosting tournaments. The federation currently has 13,195 licensed coaches and 3,616 referees. The meeting stressed the need for more match time for players and restructuring tournaments to provide more opportunities.
Infrastructure Investments
Significant investments have been approved for renovating football infrastructure, with Rs2,200 crore allocated by State Governments. This includes funds for stadiums in Guwahati, Kokrajhar, Tawang, Nagaland, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh.
The conclave marks a crucial step towards the holistic development of Indian football.
