In the Haryana elections, Congress leader Aditya Surjewala secured a victory in the Kaithal assembly seat by 8,124 votes, despite the Indian National Congress trailing behind the BJP overall. His supporters celebrated at his residence as he led over BJP’s Leela Ram. Surjewala, representing the third generation of his family in Kaithal, held a road show in the city.

Surjewala emphasized his commitment to fighting hooliganism and hatred, urging people to vote for Congress. He expressed his desire to bring prosperity and development to Kaithal, aiming to stop the outflow of students seeking better opportunities elsewhere. He highlighted his family’s 20-year association with Kaithal and appealed for votes for justice and development.

Surjewala criticized the BJP, stating that their Chief Minister candidates are controlled by Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, whereas Congress leaders are chosen based on hard work.

In another victory for Congress, Vinesh Phogat won the Julana Assembly Constituency, defeating BJP’s Yogesh Kumar by 5,761 votes. As BJP moved towards a third consecutive win in Haryana, Congress raised concerns about discrepancies in the vote count data provided by the Election Commission.
