Three companies from the Adani Group – Adani Enterprises Ltd, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd, and Ambuja Cements Ltd – have joined the World Economic Forum’s ‘Transitioning Industrial Clusters’ initiative. This new group, called the Adani Mundra Cluster, aims to boost economic growth, create jobs, and reduce carbon emissions by 2050.

About Mundra Port

Since starting in 1993, Mundra Port has grown into India’s largest port and a busy industrial area. It hosts companies from various sectors, including solar and wind energy manufacturing and cement production.

Green Goals

Adani Ports aims to use only renewable electricity by 2025 and reach net-zero emissions by 2040. The new Ambuja cement plant in Mundra aims to be the world’s lowest-emission cement facility, targeting net-zero by 2050.

Green Hydrogen Hub

The Adani Mundra Cluster plans to become one of the world’s largest green hydrogen hubs, producing 1 million metric tonnes per year by 2030 and 3 million by 2040. This will include solar, wind, and electrolyser manufacturing, along with port infrastructure.

Global Collaboration

Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports and Director of Ambuja Cements, said the initiative will help India reduce its energy imports and decarbonize tough sectors. Roberto Bocca from the World Economic Forum welcomed the cluster, highlighting its role in South Asia’s green energy transition.
