AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal’s Co-Convict Moves to Delhi High Court in Dr. Rajender Singh Case
A co-convict of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Prakash Jarwal in the Dr. Rajender Singh suicide case has approached the Delhi High Court. The case, involving Jarwal, Kapil Nagar, and Harish Jarwal, was initially convicted on February 28. The High Court has scheduled a hearing for October 18. Previously, Harish Jarwal’s conviction was quashed following a settlement. The court has imposed a cost of Rs 30,000 on Harish Jarwal, to be paid to the Delhi Police Welfare Society.

During a trial court hearing, Kapil Nagar’s counsel requested an adjournment, stating that Nagar has moved to the High Court. Special Judge Kaveri Baweja has listed the matter for hearing on October 21. Justice Amit Mahajan summoned the physical trial court record on September 27.
Previous Developments
On August 30, Justice Amit Mahajan quashed Harish Jarwal’s conviction after a settlement with the complainant. Harish Jarwal had been convicted under Section 506 (Criminal Intimidation) of the IPC, which is compoundable at the instance of the intimidated person. The High Court set aside the conviction, subject to a Rs 30,000 cost to be paid to the Delhi Police Welfare Society.
An FIR was registered at Police Station Neb Sarai in 2020 in this case.
