Aaditya Thackeray Confident of Victory in Maharashtra Elections
Mumbai, Maharashtra: Aaditya Thackeray, a leader from Shiv Sena (UBT), expressed strong confidence in the Maha Vikas Aghadi’s (MVA) success in the upcoming Maharashtra elections. Thackeray, who is the current MLA from the Worli constituency and a former guardian minister of Mumbai’s suburban district, filed his nomination for the Worli seat.
Speaking to reporters, Thackeray stated, “With the love of the people and the support from my party, I have filed my nomination today. MVA will win in Maharashtra, this is the hope that we have.” Before filing his nomination, Thackeray held a roadshow and visited a temple to offer prayers, emphasizing his commitment to eradicating unemployment and stopping the ‘loot of Maharashtra’ if elected.
During the roadshow, Thackeray expressed confidence in winning the Worli seat again, highlighting the support and love from the people. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi, who accompanied Thackeray, predicted a “historic margin” victory for him, noting his previous win with over 70,000 votes.
Chaturvedi criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for spreading “lies” about the MVA alliance and using central agencies against the opposition. She emphasized that the people of Maharashtra remember these actions and are ready to support the MVA in forming the government after the elections.
The nomination process for the 288 assembly seats has begun, with polling scheduled for November 20 and results to be announced on November 23. In the 2019 elections, the BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena secured 56, and Congress won 44 seats.
