Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 30: India’s star batter Virat Kohli made history by becoming the fastest player to cross 27,000 international runs on Day 4 of the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur. He surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record, achieving the milestone in 594 innings, 29 fewer than Tendulkar.
During his career, Tendulkar reached 27,000 runs in 623 innings, while Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara and Australia’s Ricky Ponting took 648 and 650 innings, respectively. Kohli scored 47 runs before being dismissed by Shakib Al Hasan.
