6 Naxals Killed in Telangana Encounter, Security Personnel Injured
In Telangana’s Bhadradri Kothagudem district, six Naxals were killed and two security personnel were injured in an encounter with police. One of the injured personnel is in critical condition and undergoing treatment.
Bhadradri Kothagudem District Superintendent Rohit Raj stated, “An encounter broke out between police and Maoists in Telangana’s Bhadradri Kothagudem district this morning.”
Earlier on Wednesday, the bodies of nine Naxals killed in an encounter with security personnel were brought to the mortuary of Dantewada District Hospital in Chhattisgarh. The security forces killed these nine Naxals during an operation in the forest at Dantewada-Bijapur on Tuesday. Dantewada SP Gaurav Rai mentioned that a large number of SLR rifles, .303 rifles, and .315 Bore rifles were recovered from the Naxals. All security force personnel involved in the operation were safe.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai praised the bravery of the soldiers and stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party has been fighting Naxalism since it came to power and aims to eradicate it soon.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted that left-wing extremism will be completely eradicated from the country by March 2026. He emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the fight against left-wing extremism is in its final phase. Shah called upon the youth involved in left-wing extremism to abandon violence and join the country’s development efforts led by Prime Minister Modi.
